StrengthsFinder is an online test, comprised of 177 questions. It takes about 35-45 minutes to take the StrengthsFinder test, and then you’re immediately given your results.

Now known as the CliftonStrengths Assessment, the test was developed by the Gallup organization, based on questions that Gallup posed to more than 1.7 million professionals, across various fields and industries. StrengthsFinder is based on more than 40 years of research and falls into a category of “positive psychology” tests – meaning that it focuses on your strengths, not your weaknesses.
The premise of the StrengthsFinder test is that if you’re using your strengths (in a project, job, career, or relationship), things will come easily to you and you’ll be more satisfied and happier. By employing these strengths, you’ll be more likely to obtain and sustain success.
If, on the other hand, you’re constantly required to employ traits that are your weaknesses, you could become frustrated and discouraged, and will be more likely to fail.
